One question before your next long-distance call

When most of your shared time happens through a screen, a huge list can feel like homework. Start with one question that both of you can answer privately, then share when you are ready.

7 questions for long-distance couples

  1. What from today would you like to share with me first?
  2. What gesture of attention would be nice for you this week?
  3. What helps us stay connected on an ordinary day?
  4. Which pace of conversation feels calm to you?
  5. Which future moment together is nice for you to imagine?
  6. What helped you feel closer to me today?
  7. What helps you trust the quiet periods between us?

Choose one. The list moves from an ordinary-day check-in toward a deeper question about quiet periods; you never need to reach the end.

A two-minute ritual without an app

  1. Agree on one question. Either person can choose a different one or pause.
  2. Write your answers separately in private notes. Do not compare while you are writing.
  3. Share both answers at an agreed time, then talk only if you both want to continue.

When schedules or time zones do not match

The question can sit between calls instead of creating another appointment. Each person answers when they have room, and neither answer needs an immediate reaction. If the day is already full, leave it for later.

How We Now handles the reveal

We Now gives both partners the same question. Each answer stays hidden until both people have responded, then the two texts open together. Before either person answers, the question can be skipped. There are no streaks, couple scores, or penalties for a pause.

Quick answers

Do we need to answer all seven questions?

No. Pick one that fits today. The last question is deeper, so leave it for another time if either of you would rather keep things light.

What if our time zones do not line up?

Answer separately when each of you has time, then agree on when to share. A reply does not have to become an immediate call.

Can one person see the other answer first?

Not in We Now. Both texts stay hidden until you have both answered, then they are revealed together.
